Sam Vlessing isn’t your average tech founder—he's the fourth generation in the furniture industry, with a family who have clocked more than 80 years in the business as prominent producers of furniture. Growing up around his father's furniture plant he was able to gain a deep appreciation of what it's like to be in a manufacturer’s shoes. Leveraging his industry insights and expertise, he founded CommerceBear with a mission to democratize ecommerce for home goods merchants of all sizes. In just 24 months he has scaled CommerceBear into a leading B2B technology company that powers North American manufacturers selling across Wayfair, Amazon, Overstock, and more. He's a digital disruptor, industry innovator, passionate advocate for manufacturers of all sizes, and is committed to helping the home goods industry evolve. Sam is also an Advisory Board member at Canada Emergency Medical Manufacturers (cemm.ca), a company formed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic to produce PPE for hospitals across Canada. He attended Dalhousie University where he played CIS varsity soccer for the Tigers.
