Danielle has been Senior Legal Counsel in Market Regulation at the ASC since April, 2018. In this role, Danielle provides legal support to the Market Regulation division, which includes the formulation of policy respecting the oversight of securities and derivatives dealers and markets, the processing of exemptive relief applications from market participants and day-to-day advice on registration and market oversight issues. Danielle sits on the Fintech Sandbox Committee, which is the CSA’s primary forum for addressing the securities law issues associated with cryptocurrencies and emerging technologies.
Before joining the ASC, Danielle practiced securities law at McCarthy Tetrault LLP in Calgary and London, England. Danielle was also Senior Manager of Listed Issuer Services at the Toronto Stock Exchange and Legal Counsel of a derivatives exchange and clearing house in Alberta. Danielle has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta. Danielle was called to the Alberta bar in 2006 and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in 2010.
