Yona Shtern is Executive Chairman of ParkWhiz – the high-growth market leader in delivering mobile services to consumers like parking. The company operates complementary B2C & B2B marketplaces and powers the data, transactions and customer service layers for partners like SAP, Sirius, Ford, Jaguar/Land Rover, Ticketmaster, Groupon, Staples and many others.
Prior to joining ParkWhiz, Yona was co-founder and CEO of Beyond the Rack (BTR). Launched in 2009, BTR grew exponentially to over 13 million consumer members, 5,000 brand partners, 400 employees and annual revenues in excess of $150 million.
Previously Yona was President of Gosh Marketing, Chief Marketing Officer of Ice.com, and CMO of Microcell Telecommunications where he launched the Fido wireless brand. He was also Vice President of Direct and Database Marketing at Saks Fifth Avenue and Director of Direct Marketing at Avon Products. He began his career with a BA in English Literature from McGill University.
Yona has been an entrepreneur for over 15 years and is a frequent speaker at international marketing, start-up and technology conferences. He is an active angel investor and serves on a number of advisory boards for start-up companies.
He also acts a mentor to young entrepreneurs at Founder Fuel and Founders Institute (technology accelerators), a board member of Start-Up Canada.
He has received numerous awards for his advertising, product launch, and marketing strategies and was named Entrepreneur of the Year in 2015.
