Andrew Bowerbank is well recognized across the industry for his efforts to collaborate with thought leaders and drive innovation through high-profile projects and initiatives in Canada and internationally. He is a leading authority on emerging technologies, high-performance building design and low-carbon economics. Among his professional accomplishments, he is the former Executive Director/CEO of the World Green Building Council (2007-10) where he was proud to act as the Member Representative for the United Nations Environmental Programme. He was also the founding Executive Director of the Canada Green Building Council’s Toronto Chapter.
Today, Andrew is the Global Director of Sustainable Building Services at EllisDon Corporation where he has launched a new strategic plan called the “Carbon Impact Initiative” in response to global market trends towards a low carbon economy. In addition to his work at EllisDon, Andrew is a Council member at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in Ottawa and Chair of the Cleantech Advisory Board at Centennial College. Andrew was recently named one of Canada's top 16 sustainability leaders at the 2017 "Clean50" Awards.
