September 11, 2019 - CIX is the exclusive Canadian regional competition for Startup World Cup
Startup World Cup is a global conference and competition with the goal of bridging startup ecosystems worldwide. It is organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures, a Silicon Valley-based multinational VC firm. There will be 40+ regional events across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, leading up to the Grand Finale in US Silicon Valley, where the global champion will be awarded a $1 million investment prize.
Startup World Cup partners with CIX annually to host its Canadian regional competition. The 2020 regional competition will be held on October 16 and 17, 2019 as a part of the annual CIX event in Toronto.

September 4, 2019 - CIX TOP 20 Early and CIX TOP 10 Growth Announced: Canada's Most Innovative Technology Companies
Over 400 of profiles were submitted this year from all regions of Canada. The selection committee, made up of industry experts and investors, have narrowed it down to 20 Early-stage and 10 Growth-stage companies to induct into the annual CIX Top program for 2019.
Companies were chosen based on a number of key factors including product/service offering, depth of management, market opportunity, and business model.Expanding to include a dedicated Growth-stage category allows us to identify and showcase more great Canadian companies and attract new classes of investors and sources of capital to CIX. This year's cohort of early and growth-stage companies is very impressive and we look forward to showcasing them at CIX.
The 2019 CIX Top 20 Early and CIX Top 10 Growth companies are (in alphabetical order):
The Founder/CEO of each company will present at CIX 2019 on Oct 16-17 to share their story and unique innovation to over 700 investors and peers in the North American technology ecosystem. This summer we're partnering with Sensibill to organize Mind Over Grind, a 5K run to bring together Toronto start-ups and raise awareness about mental health in the tech community. Montreal-based Global POS Provider wins award for transforming the retail and hospitality industries

NEW IN 2019 - CIX has expanded to include a separate awards program for Growth-stage companies! CIX now has two awards categories:
The CIX TOP 20 Early program for companies with net revenue less than CA $5 million or who have raised less than $10 million and the CIX TOP 10 Growth program for later stage companies.
With this expansion, the CIX TOP programs are Canada's largest national showcase of the hottest and most innovative tech companies.
